Color creates light
“In nature, light creates the colour. In the picture, colour creates the light.” ~Hans Hofmann
Adding only one deep colour to your space can create that light and warmth that is needed. Not necessarily a bright colour, but a soft or deep colour can do the trick as well. It's all about the combination and the feeling it creates.
